For my last class, I was told to teach vocabulary about how to move inside a mall or a small department store. To start the class, I decided to use a warm up called ¨ Pin the tail to the Donkey¨. For the activity, students were divided in two groups. There was one leader per group. The leader of the group was blindfolded and the members of the group gave him/her directions to reach the picture of the donkey and collocate the tail in the right point. Students worked nice giving the directions and they enjoyed the activity a lot.

The vocabulary was presented with some pictures of a mall which had more than one floor. I gave them some examples to use vocabulary to move around in the store. Also, vocabulary to go up or go down in the building.

For the practice phase, I asked them to work in pairs and gave them some fill in the blank exercises in which they had to write the appropriate information to get a specific department store in a picture. Also, they had to answer some questions giving directions to a person that wanted to go to a specific place in the building. At the end of the class, they worked in pairs to create an original conversation using the vocabulary studied in class.

For my future class, I will try to be careful at the moment the students choose the partners because they lost much time. Also, they tend to speak things not related with the class. So, I will try to choose the pairs for them.
